Debarshee Dasgupta
Debarshee Dasgupta is a doctoral researcher for the WATCON South Asia project. He has an
interdisciplinary academic background, holding a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and a master’s
degree in Environmental Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Prior to joining SOAS,
he was a Senior Research Associate with the Transboundary Rivers, Ecologies, and
Development Studies (TREADS) Initiative at the Centre for Policy Research (CPR), New Delhi.
In this role, he examined various aspects of federal and interstate water governance in India. His
broader research interests include institutional dimensions of water governance, river basin
management, and environmental planning.
